Every Etsy fee

What Etsy charges on a sale.

  • Listing fee: $0.20

Per listing, for 4 months, whether or not it sells. Each extra unit sold in one order costs another $0.20, and auto-renew charges $0.20 when a listing is renewed.

  • Transaction fee: 6.5%

Of the item price, the shipping you charge and any gift wrap. A paid personalization add-on counts as part of the item price.

  • Payment processing

A percentage plus a fixed fee per order, set by the country of your bank account: 3% + 0.25 USD in the United States. Charged on the order total, including shipping and tax.

  • Offsite Ads: 15% or 12%

Only on orders from Etsy's ads on other sites, within 30 days of the click. 15% until a shop reaches $10,000 in yearly sales, then 12%, and never more than $100 per order.

  • Regulatory operating fee

In some countries only: from 0.05% in India to 1.97% in Hungary. The United Kingdom is 0.48% and France 1.14% since 22 June 2026.

  • Currency conversion: 2.5%

Only when your listings are priced in a different currency than your payment account.

  • VAT on Etsy fees

In VAT countries, Etsy adds VAT to its fees. In many countries a VAT ID number stops it.

  • Share & Save: 4% back

A credit, not a fee: 4% back on eligible orders placed within 30 days of a click on your own shared shop link.

A worked example

One order, every fee.

A seller in the United States sells one item for 25.00 USD and charges 5.00 USD for shipping. There is no sales tax on the order and it did not come from an Offsite Ad. The order total is 30.00 USD.

  • Listing fee: 0.20 USD
  • Transaction fee: 6.5% of 30.00 = 1.95 USD
  • Payment processing: 3% of 30.00 + 0.25 = 1.15 USD
  • Etsy fees in total: 3.30 USD, or 11% of the order

If the same order came from an Offsite Ad, a shop under $10,000 in yearly sales would pay another 15% of 30.00, so 4.50 USD more, for 7.80 USD in fees. From that, take off what the product and the shipping cost you, and the rest is your profit.

Pay less

Ways to pay less in Etsy fees.

  • Price with every fee in mind. Fees come off the order total, shipping included, so a low shipping price does not avoid them.
  • List in your payment account's currency. That avoids the 2.5% currency conversion.
  • Share your own shop link. Share & Save gives 4% back on eligible orders that come from it.
  • Know your Offsite Ads setting. Under $10,000 in yearly sales you can opt out; past it, the fee is 12% and you cannot.
  • Mind auto-renew. Each renewal and each extra unit sold costs $0.20.

Shop Pilot only charges for its plan. Etsy fees and supplier costs are separate, and orders go to your own Alerio or Gelato account, so you pay the supplier directly.

Questions

About Etsy fees.

Something else on your mind? Ask us.

How much does Etsy take per sale?

A 6.5% transaction fee and payment processing (3% + 0.25 USD in the United States), plus 0.20 USD per listing. Offsite Ads add 12% or 15% on orders they bring, and some countries add a regulatory operating fee. For a 30.00 USD order in the United States with no Offsite Ad, that is 3.30 USD, or 11%.

Does Etsy charge fees on shipping?

Yes. The transaction fee and payment processing both include the shipping you charge, and so do Offsite Ads and the regulatory operating fee.

What is the Etsy payment processing fee?

It depends on where your bank account is: 3% + 0.25 USD in the United States, 4% + 0.20 GBP in the United Kingdom and 4% + 0.30 EUR in the EU, for example. It is charged on the order total, including shipping and tax.

What are Etsy Offsite Ads fees?

15% of an order that came from Etsy's ads on other sites, or 12% once a shop has reached $10,000 in yearly sales, and never more than $100 per order. Every shop is enrolled; under $10,000 you can opt out.

What is the regulatory operating fee?

A fee in some countries, on the item price, shipping and gift wrap. Since 22 June 2026: United Kingdom 0.48%, France 1.14%, Italy 0.80%, Spain 0.88%, Hungary 1.97%, Türkiye 1.67%, Canada 0.50%, India 0.05% and Vietnam 1.24%.

How much does it cost to list on Etsy?

0.20 USD per listing for 4 months. A renewal costs 0.20 USD, and each extra unit sold in one order is another 0.20 USD.

Do I pay Etsy fees on sales tax?

Sellers in the United States do not pay the transaction fee on sales tax, but payment processing is charged on the whole order, tax included. Sellers outside the United States pay the transaction fee on prices that include VAT.

Is there a fee for currency conversion?

Yes, 2.5% of the sale when your listings are priced in a different currency than your payment account.

How can I lower my Etsy fees?

List in your payment account's currency to avoid the 2.5% conversion, share your own shop link for Share & Save credit, and if your shop is under $10,000 a year, decide whether to opt out of Offsite Ads.

How accurate is this calculator?

It uses the rates in Etsy's Fees & Payments Policy and Etsy Payments Policy as of 12 October 2026. The listing fee and the Offsite Ads cap are in US dollars and converted at an approximate rate you can change. Your Etsy statement is the final word.
